The Aftermath

In all, the crew got away with a pound of weed and seventy thousand dollars in cash and jewelry. It was definitely the biggest score the girls had ever been a part of, but the rush wasn’t there for them like it was before. They were certain that Big Baby had reported them to the cops, and the daily paranoia of a looming arrest made the money hard to enjoy. Each day the girls came to work, they were expecting to be hauled away in handcuffs.

But as time went on and nothing happened, they began to slowly relax into the normalcy of the 9-to-5 life again. The reality of it was that just like all the other vics, Big Baby didn’t have much he could tell the police about them. No real names or addresses, and they promised not to ever go back to the strip clubs again. The fact that Nell had shot an innocent man weighed heavily on Faye’s conscience. To her, it was like she’d shot him because if not for her, he would’ve never been in that position.

She decided that she was done with that life and she convinced Ariana shortly after to give it up as well. They both knew that setting niggas up wouldn’t last forever, so it was best to take the money and run while they had a chance. After a few weeks of laying low, the girls slowly started hanging out again, but never in Detroit. They’d hit up clubs in Birmingham or Pontiac to keep from running into anyone from their shady past.

Meanwhile, Ariana was getting to know Malik from the gas station and she was actually feeling him so far. They’d been on a couple of dates and he seemed to hold true to the man she met that day. She hadn’t told Faye that she liked Malik yet because she wasn’t trying to play herself. She knew how niggas could bring their A game in the beginning and flip the script soon after.

Today the girls had plans to hang out in Birmingham again since they had a lot of fun the last time. At the moment, they sat at Ariana’s apartment after getting back from a shopping spree at Somerset Mall and Neiman Marcus. The blood money they’d been keeping tucked away was starting to burn a hole in their pockets, so today was a treat yourself day. Faye was recording Ariana as she showed off her Neiman Marcus bags for a video she would post to Instagram.

“Don’t let this nine-to-five life fool y’all. I gets the bag in many, many ways, ya heard me?” she bragged.

She pulled out a Christian Louboutin shoe box then opened it, displaying a pair of black pointy toe pumps. She then pulled out another shoe box which housed a pair of yellow Steve Madden pumps.

“A little something for my date night.” She smiled.

She went on to show off her $2000 Burberry bag and Faye’s $1800 Saint Laurent purse. The two would eventually make five videos.
